Benefits of Baking With Marijuana

If you’re a regular weed smoker, you’re already most likely aware of the benefits of consuming  weed. The medicinal benefits are endless, from helping to calm anxiety, relieve pain, improve sleep and contribute to an overall healthy system of the user’s body. In addition to all of the common known benefits, consuming marijuana brownies lead to loads of other incredible benefits!! Take a look at the top 5 benefits of eating magic brownies.

  1. Discrete Consumption

Depending on where you live in the world, there may still be a lot of stigma around the consumption of weed, whether it be for medicinal use or recreational. For this reason, edibles are a great way to enjoy your marijuana anywhere, at home or on the go, without the worry of critical eyes gazing down at you.

  1. Enjoy A Different Type of High

Did you know that the method you choose to ingest your marijuana will actually alter the type of high you’ll experience? Consuming edibles will provide you with a high that is felt evenly throughout your entire body whereas with smoking you’ll often feel only a head high. The reason for this is that our bodies process THC differently when they’re in edibles. Another bonus of eating magic brownies is that when you come out of the high, it will be a lot smoother and won’t, for lack of better words, leave you feeling like shit.

  1. Longer Lasting High

The onset of effects after eating a magic brownie aren’t the fastest but they are long lasting,  anywhere from 3-12 hours depending on factors such as your hydration levels, and the high is more intense. With smoking marijuana, the THC reaches your brain rather fast while if ingesting through the stomach, it first needs to be processed by the liver.

If you’re looking for immediate pain relief, then edibles may not be your first go to but for everyone else, they’re great!

  1. Better For Your Body

Inhaling smoke has several harmful effects on your lungs. Consuming edibles like marijuana brownies are a great alternative to smoking; they allow you to benefit from the THC without all the harmful effects.

  1. Save Money!

Yep, that’s right, regularly baking your pot into a deliciously tasty brownie rather than choosing to smoke your pot with actually save you money!

Marijuana Brownie Recipes

Marijuana brownies have been a favorite edible for quite some time and pot brownie recipes have definitely improved a heck of a lot since first becoming popular. Gone are the days of the crunchy/grainy/odd textured marijuana brownies that were made with ground up cannabis. The most flavorful and perfectly textured pot brownie, use Cannabutter or Cannoil as a main ingredient.

Easiest Way To Make Cannabutter

Cannabutter can be time consuming to make which is why using a machine like MagicalButter, (ADD UNIQUE AFFILIATE LINK THROUGHOUT ARTICLE) can speed up the process and cut down on mess. FAQ

  1. How do I tell if my brownie is finished baking?

To test for doneness, insert a toothpick into the centre of the brownie and pull it out. When you pull out the toothpick there should be a little bit of moisture left over; it shouldn’t be completely dry. The brownie will continue to cook once outside of the oven which is why you’ll want to pull it a bit sooner to make sure it doesn’t overcook.

  1. What’s the easiest recipe for making coconut cannoil?

The easiest way to make coconut cannoil is by using the MagicalButter machine. If you choose to go ahead and make the cannoil without the machine, we will warn you that it is quite the long and sometimes messy process and requires monitoring throughout. You’ll be cooking the cannabis in the crockpot anywhere from 12–18 hours.

  • First, you’ll need 1 lb unrefined organic coconut oil, 1-3 oz dried marijuana, water, a fine metal strainer, crockpot, cheese cloth and a thermometer. We’d recommend soaking your buds overnight to remove some of the chlorophyll and thus the herbal taste

  • Using a coffee grinder, grind up the cannabis fine but not too fine that it resembles a powder

  • Add coconut oil, and then the water (enough so that the oil is floating)

  • Set the crockpot on a settling that allows the mixture to liquefy

  • Stir in the bud mixture until fully saturated

  • With the thermometer siting inside the pot, close the lit and wait until the temperature reaches 250°F

  • Once at the desired temperature, turn the dial to low temperature and stir

  • Continue to stir every once in a while, making sure the temperature does not drop below 250°F or raise above 320°F; ideally you want the mixture between 250°F and 270°F. If the temperature is too hot, you could burn off the active ingredients. If you notice the cannabis coming out of the water, add more water to ensure it is submerged

  • Once finished cooking, after between 12-18 h, turn off the crockpot and let the mixture cool until you’re able to handle it safely

  • Double wrap the cheesecloth over the strainer; with a container to catch the liquid, slowly pour the mixture through the cheesecloth

  • Place the fully strained mixture in the fridge overnight. You will notice in the morning that the oil with rise to the top

  • Remove the hardened coconut oil from the top of the water and discard the water

Your oil is now ready to use and can be kept in the fridge until needed. Before using, wam the oil so it returns to a liquid state.

As you can see, the process is quite time consuming. If you want to save time, energy, and ensure a clean kitchen by the end of the process, pick yourself up a MagicalButter machine!

  1. Why use cannabis coconut oil in my brownie recipe?

Since coconut oil has a high level of saturated fats, it is great for extracting THC. The coconut  oil is able to absorb more cannabinoids than butters or other oils and therefor when you use it in a recipe, you’re end product will also contain more THC.

Ready To Bake?

No matter which brownie recipe you end up using, once you’ve baked and cooled your batch, remember that if it’s your first time using a particular strain, recipe, or method of making pot brownies, always play it safe when sampling. Try a 1/4 piece first and wait about 1.5 hours to see how your body responds to the effects. Also, remember that when asking how much weed for brownies is good for a batch, you must first ask yourself what is your desired effect. Typically, 1 oz to 4 oz of weed is best to use for a batch of brownies. As always, experimenting is going to produce the best results but before going crazy, start by following the recipes we’ve shared above. Once you’ve mastered these, you can start playing around with other ingredients. Now you’re well on your way to being an expert at how to make weed brownies, so get out shopping for your ingredients and enjoy baking up your first batch!
